The sunlight that reaches the earth is divided into UV-B (280nm to 315nm) and UV-A (315nm to 380nm) in order of wavelength, and these two wavelengths are called ultraviolet rays.
Wavelengths above the ultraviolet range, between 380nm and 780nm, are visible light and are called visible light.
Wavelengths higher than visible light are called infrared rays, and most of the infrared rays that reach the ground are in the 780nm to 1400nm range, known as "near infrared rays."
While ultraviolet rays, which have a negative effect on the skin, are mainly absorbed by the surface of the skin, near-infrared rays are said to affect the deep dermis and even the muscles.
It is especially important to block not only ultraviolet rays but also near-infrared rays around the eyes, where the skin is thin and harmful light is easily transmitted.
